CLASE

Hands in the Earth: weekly ceramics workshop

In this space you’ll learn the fundamental techniques to shape and form your own handmade pieces.

We’ll explore form, matter and fire in a creative, relaxed and experimental environment. A meeting place where ceramics becomes a language of its own through clay, hands and time.

In the workshop, practice will be a process of discovery: from hand-building to experimental finishes with glazes, slips and oxides.

Fire completes the transformation, turning the ephemeral into the permanent.

No previous experience needed. Sign up and start creating with your own hands!

What you’ll find in the workshop

1. Creating in a playful space: Technical learning takes place in a relaxed, creative environment, where playing with the material, music and exchange among participants are part of the process.

2. Technical focus: You’ll be taught the essential foundations of ceramic work (clay preparation, hand-building techniques such as pinch, coils and slabs, building pieces and basic finishing concepts).

3. Hands-on learning: The training is centred on constant practice. Participants work directly with the material from the very first moment, learning by doing.

4. Guidance: Close support is provided throughout the process, helping to resolve technical questions and improve pieces according to each person’s level.

5. Understanding the ceramic process: The different stages (shaping, drying, firing and finishes) are presented to understand ceramics as a holistic process.

6. Creative atmosphere: Technical learning is combined with a relaxed, stimulating environment that encourages experimentation and confidence with the material.
