Sake Tasting: Introduction to the World of Sake
Sake is more than just a drink within Japanese culture. It is the national beverage of Japan, where it is known as nihonshu, which literally means “sake of Japan.” In 2024, it was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.
On Wednesday, October 28, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM, we will offer an introduction to sake culture: its history, the products involved in its production, the brewing process, and the most common classifications. We will taste six different sakes to learn about the styles and possibilities of this beverage with over a thousand years of history.
